Hi All,

I am trying to learn php by my own and have used wamp5_1.6.6.exe for this.

I have installed the same thing in two machines.

I tried to connect to mysql and it works fine in one machine and is showing an error in other. The error shown is "undefined function mysql_connect()". I also tried to run phpinfo() in both the machines, one gives me information about mysql and the other dont even mention anything about mysql.
The same is with, when i try to run phpmyadmin and sqlitemanager, fine in one computer and shows mysql error in other.

The differences as i noticed about two computers

The on which works fine::

Windows XP SP2, IE7, Connected to Internet

The one which does not work fine::

Windows XP, IE6, Not connected to internet.

What are the chances that there could be a possible difference in php.ini or any other settings file.

Note :: I have tried reinstalling wamp several times and even tried to restarting machine etc.

PS::A kind request to the user "yfastud (---.cable.mindspring.com)"
I have searched the same topic in the forums, your replies are more confusing than helping, so kindly, if you know how to solve this give me a simple and straight answer. I am really sorry if I am being rude, but I myself am frustuated.

Since you address directly to me, so the simplest and straightest answer is I'm sorry I"m kind of tight to some paid projects now, so I can't help you out, even w/ the most confusing tips. Hope somebody else would sort it out for you.

Hi, have a look at your windows directory, i'm sure there is an old php.ini file in there. Delete it and restart WAMP.

Thanks a lot for the help.
I searched the system, and got another php.ini. I deleted it .. and now its working fine. I am able to connect to mysql.
