hi

i am new to this....

i have setup wamp5, and it will work with my websites as the localhost (took three weeks) but i was over the moon, what i need to do is run a database site localy, my website is in php (i bought it already to roll) i have it working on my remote webhost and it is ok. the problem i am having is that i need to insert in the sites config file the Database username, database name, host, and password.
when i open up [localhost] and in the box below "Create new database" insert robin leave box with collation in it as is, then press CREATE, it goes to another page for me to create tables, my website that i bought does all of that, i cannot see where or how to insert a password. i also get this error messsage on the opening screen which is in red " Your configuration file contains settings (root with no password) that correspond to the default MySQL privileged account. Your MySQL server is running with this default, is open to intrusion, and you really should fix this security hole."
how do i do that,

many thanks
robin

hi

i have been told this by the company i bought my program from.......

Hello,

The problem, is that WAMP 5 has a default PHP setting of shorttags = off, which means using <? for PHP does not work, and the contents are treated like normal text instead of PHP text. If you turn short tags on through the PHP configuration settings, it should work.

Please let us know if you have any further questions or problems.

can anyone tell me where this file is in wamp5 as i cannot find it i have found the config_inc.php but there is no where to change the setting.

please help

hi

i have asked the program people about aproblem and they say that i must do this......

The reason you are most likely not able to log on is because of the use of localhost. You have to adjust your apache in Wammp to use an ip address. Browsers do not publish cookies correctly using localhost and our authentication requires a valid cookie.
....

how do i do this, i have been hunting around wamp5 but cannot see where to do this.

many thanks
robin

Where did you try to logon? If logging on your own mysql, it's not true because you can access and run test on my sites in my signature even though all those db are locally as seen in posted codes. Try it and download the codes to experience yourself.
