Hello.
I recently created my password, via editing /phpmyadmin/config.inc.php.
Now whenever I try to go to phpmyadmin I get:

Error

MySQL said:

#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

Please tell me how I can fix this, is there any instructions I can read

Thanks

you phpMyAdmin config file is for just for configuring how the phpMyAdmin script connects to your MySQL server. since you did not change your MySQL database's user's password you go that error because your MySQL username and password for your MySQL user did not match that in your phpMyAdmin config file.

So can either of you tell me how to get both passwords to be the same.

I have tried using the MySQL Console but it disappears immediately when I either press return (when there is not a password in config.inc.php) or edit the password field in config.inc.php and enter that.

I have 1.6.6 installed and phpinfo reports the correct php.ini file is in use.

So did you check my old post?

If you've already set password in config.inc.php, easiest way is you'd better take it out, save the file, restart wampserver, then redo by order as posted in my old post

1. Set password in Privileges through [localhost]
2. Set password in wamp/phpmyadmin/config.inc.php
3. Restart wampserver

Thanks for your assistance, I uninstalled wamp5 and cleared out the files in the directory and it all seems to work now.
