I don't know why you need to turn it on before install? In that case, you might have to compile everything by yourself, or you might want to contact Rom and PHPTeam who run this place.

I am sorry is there a way to turn on GD2 after the install? If so that would work fine, but I thought that you had to set up the extension in the PHP.ini file before the compile.

After installing, enable it through tray icon, php setting, php extension, php_gd2

I am having the same problem. I have edited the php.ini to remove the ; before extension=php_gd2.dll but PHP still does not recognise GD.

Where is the tray icon you mention above please.

There are 2 php.ini in wamp dir, that's why you should enable it through wamp tray icon to make sure to get the right one which is in wamp/apache2/bin

there is no way to edit your php.ini file before you install wamp to configure extensions. you wil have to do that after install.

gd2 is enabled by default.

also remember to restart apache after you make any changes in your php.ini file for the new settings to take effect.
