hey guys, i installed wamp, no problem at all. because i usually set them manually now i found out there is wamp ( why go through all these editing when you can just install wamp ) so i did so, and got everything up. the problem is i couldnt let the server be accessed from others. i can access it through my ip address ( not the 192.x.x.1 ) but the 151.x.x.124. it can be accessed from whoever in my network, i have a router which connected to 3 computers. those 3 computers can access it from my IP address and again not the 192.x.x.1. i opened port 80 and 3306 for mysql. still no luck gettin it exposed to the net.

any ideas guys?

thanks

you have to forward the necessary ports through your router.....

when your router gets a request for a specific port it needs to know which computer to send it to...
you should have 2 sepereate ip addresses... one your router gives to you...thats your local network ip... then your isp gives you another...thats you internet ip....

to find your internet ip go to whatsmyip.net

as far as forwarding said ports...you need to look that up based on the brand of router...

It's only change when you restart your router, not your computer. Also, you can use some free ip updater to keep track for you, but which ip updater to get might depends on which dns you're using.

In that case, you should setup static ip for both. If not sure how to do it, check this thread, I've had the post to show how-to
