.htaccess file on my /www/ directory (PC)

I want to use .htaccess on my PC (where I am using WAMP) to rewrite URLs.
Doing this gives an "Internal Server Error"

Is there a way I can test mod_rewrite before uploading to the remote server?

I'm not using mod_rewrite but 1 thing for sure that I'm having more than 1 .htaccess inside wamp dir, but different subfolders and have no problem at all; so now, you can narrow down where to check for the problem.

Have fun
