WampServer

Hi!

What a great app. Tried XAMPP before wich turned out to be a total crap app.

Anyway. WAMP uses Aliases...the problem for me that some applications are required that $_SERVER["DOCUMENT_ROOT"] return a path i have set.

So i used to go with Virual Hosts because then each app can have different document roots. But how can i do this in WAMP?

Again...what a great app...worked IMMEDIATELY after install.

Open httpd.conf in wam/apache2/conf and scroll to the bottom

anyone has a link with a clear explanation of virtual hosts?
im interested on that but im blank about it.
if im not wrong virtual hosts allow me to use a DNS instead of a IP into a LAN...

yes and no.
yes, vh helps to host more than 1 domain or subdomain on 1 server
no, setup vh associated w/ setup in dns, but not use dns as you stated
