Hi

I have used wamp5.1.4.4 on windows XP professional with no problems! I have now brought a new computer with XP home on it. I also am now using wamp5.1.6.6 - every time I want to view my pages in php on localhost it asks me to connect to the Internet???
I originally installed wamp 1st - then I created the Internet connection – could that be the problem??? or could it be XP home causing the problem???
It is getting to be a pain when viewing stuff!!!!
Any help would be much appreciated!!

Hi,

If you are using Internet Explorer 6.0, disable any dial-ups in Internet Explorer and manually connect to your ISP.

Goto Tools > Internet Options > Connections; change it from "Always dial my default connection" to "Never dial a connection", Click "Ok" and it should be fine.



Thats the way the cookie crumbles.

It is also possible that your script is making calls directly to a website.

Before making any changes, I would suggest checking your scripts to make sure they don't contain anything except relative paths.

Sorry if you're not a PHP noob, but the simplest answer is usually the right one.
