WampServer

first of all, wamp is basically my first experience with webserver software. so i am a little inexperienced with these kinda things to say at least.


so is there any way to edith the htaccess or httpd.conf to make make the server reachable from the internet? i wanted to toy around with things like setting up a wordpress blog, maybe fooling around with javascript, but i really don't wanna pay a host service if i have a 4mbit cable connection at home that can handle the little traffic from friends and family.

if there is no way (i read the forums a little bit and it seems wamp is just designed to be some sort of dev-environment) are there any other projects i can use to set up a http server on my windows machine?

i am running win2k sp4, and would need a http server, sql and php support (for wordpress).

Since wampserver is designed for developers, not for production, so this topic might not fully supported in this forum, but if you search around this forum, you might run into some old posts that mention about it and how to, so you can have something like these:

nevermind ... i just found out that the "put online" function does exactly what i was looking for.
