i've been running wamp5 on a 32 bit version of windows xp without any problems. ive installed wamp5 on a windows x64 bit edition using the same settings, but it gives me problems. i can view php pages, but getting data from mysql server gives problems. i get the error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_connect()

mysql is enabled in the correct php.ini
can someone tell me how i can solve this problem?
thnx.

hey there
have you checked your php file that is trying to connect to the mysql server as you may find that you are unable to connect to mysql because there is an incorrect username and/or password between the php file and the mysql username and password or it can be that you placed the wrong database that you are trying to access

no, if he was using an incorrect username or password he would get an incorrect username or password error, not an undefined function error. you are getting this error because you have need to enable the mysql extension in your x64 php.ini file. starting with php 5, the developers of php decided to not enable the mysql extension. so you will have to do it yourself.

the easiest way to do this is to use the wamp tray icon to enable the mysql extension.

thnx for your reply, but unfortunately it was not a solution to my problem. the mysql extension was already enabled. i checked it in the php.ini. i removed the ; extension=php_mysql.dll. I also did it the easy way using the wamp tray icon. from the list i saw that the mysql extension was already loaded. now I also loaded the msql, mssql and the mysqli extensions to check if that makes any difference. yet still i dont get mysql to work. do you maybe have any other ideas? thnx.

i still have no solution for my problem. php and mysql both work individually, but they wont work together. can someone maybe confirm this problem. or can someone tell me if they got wamp5 working on a windows xp 64bit platform (without the mysql problem)?

this problem happens on any 64bit platform

I'm a windows 7 64bit user and i got the same problem as you

my solution is find the elements of WAMP : PHP64, mysql 64, apache64

and build them by myself. Besides, you need to set the php.ini and apache

here is a site for you : [expertester.wordpress.com]

@epin : You should use WampServer which is Wamp5 evolution.

Wamp5 is no more maintained and not compatible with Vista or Seven...
