How do I get WAMP as my server

Hi

complete newbie to this so be kind


I have downloaded WAMP newest addition, Im designing in Dreamweaver mx edition
New to that also. I have downloaded Php forums for a web site im trying to design so using WAMP as a testing server (local) but every time I want to use it it tells me that the windows xp server is being used (IIS.5) how do I get my PC to reconise WAMP apache as my test server so I can test my php scripts.

IIS, which is a webserver too, already run on your system and causes the problem. You can manage to run they both but will definitely causes you more problem later; thus, better uninstall wampserver, disable IIS, and reinstall wampserver.

no, you dont need to uninstall anything. just stop IIS and then start wamp and you will be ok.
