phpmyadmin error

When I click on phpmyadmin I get this screen:
Welcome to phpMyAdmin 2.8.1
phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in config.inc.php and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.

I reinstalled MySql, but I don't want an anonymous user checked off when I install it.

make sure you have started mysql server before tryign to access phpmyadmih.
