Apache dies w/ alias to a network drive

Hi, I installed the latest WAMP package (1.6.5) yesterday. I must say that it is a beautiful piece of work.
I added an alias to a folder on a network drive today. When I restarted the Apache server, it wouldn't start. I had to remove the newly added alias to get Apache going again.
I understand that this is probably an Apache issue. But thought I'd post it here to see if anyone has the same encounter.

Some networds drives are not supported by Apache. I've tried too many different drives but not really succeeded so far. Will post if get the drive that works.
