Hello all!

I've searched the forums and the net and can't seem to fix this strange problem. I've created the .htaccess and .htpasswd and saved them to my server dir. When I access the site via the web the login box comes up, but when I enter the username and password it does nothing!!?? I've verified the username and pass, as well as upload the htaccess and htpasswd files via ftp... I do'nt know what can be wrong.

Hey neocoder, you forget the important part of the question that is HOW?

did you use the command line to create the htaccess and htpasswd files, or did you just create the files yourself and uplaod them to your server.

If you had these files up on your webserver and then copied them and put them in your WAMP server, you will need to edit the path in your htaccess file.

Or you can use some editor to create it. I recommend free PSPad that supports most coding languages, which I use to created my .htaccess and .htpasswrd, which you can test here with username tester and password test.
