Hello. I've currently been trying to activate the Wamp Apache Server, but it won't start.

When I test my port, I get this message:

I've installed the latest version of Wamp 3.3.1.

I've verified that all VC ++ packages are installed and with the latest versions.

I also changed the port from 80 to 8080. But, nothing has worked.

Hi, the IIS is unchecked. I reinstalled all services, but when I did so, I got this error message for the Aestan Tray Menu:

I'm unable to close it, without restarting the computer. (Edit: I was able to close it by clicking on the Wamp icon)

The only possible solution is to :

- 1 - Uninstall Wampserver completely.

- 2 - Check that the c:\wamp64\ folder has been completely deleted, otherwise delete it.

- 3 - Check via the services manager that the three services wampapache64, wampmydqld64 and wampmaradb64 no longer exist, otherwise delete them.

- 4 - Install VC++ packages with: "Best way to install Visual C++ Redistributable Packages"

Download the latest version of the VisualCppRedist_AIO_x86_x64.exe file and run it as administrator, all necessary redistributable VC++ will be installed and excess or obsolete files will be removed. To ensure that everything runs smoothly, some applications will need to be disabled when requested by the Redist VC++ installer.

- 5 - Restart the machine

- 6 - Install Wampserver 3.3.0 as an administrator.

Hi, it did not work. Wampapache64 is still not starting.
I followed all the steps. If it helps, Redist VC++ installer did not ask me to disable any applications.

Check that your anti-virus program, even if it's the Windows one, does not prevent access to httpd.exe.

You should also check that the Windows firewall authorizes access to httpd.exe; this should normally have been requested by Windows when Apache was first accessed.

Hi, I do use an anti-virus, but I have already temporarily disabled it when trying to turn on Wamp server.
I don't know how to check if the Windows firewall authorizes access to httpd.exe.
All that I was able to do was open Window Defender Firewall with Advanced Security, and saw 4 rules for the wampmanager.exe with the name AeTrayMenu.

With Windows 10 and 11, you have absolutely no need for third-party anti-virus unless you want to put the binz in your system.

There must also be rules concerning the Apache HTTP server.

Install Apache 2.4.58 and, after launching Wampserver, switch to this version. Windows should ask you if you authorize Apache.

Hello, it did not work. But, I was able to find a workaround.

I can activate Apache, if I open the apache bin file and click on httpd.exe, or type in to the command prompt, as an administrator, "c:\wamp64\bin\apache\apache2.4.58\bin\httpd.exe", and Wamp works just like normal, the only difference is that the Wamp icon does not turn green.

It may work, but it's going to be a bit complicated to use in conjunction with the various Wampmanager menu items!
In fact, when Apache or PHP versions or parameters are changed, when VirtualHosts are created or modified - in short, when almost any change is made to Wampmanager - the wampapache64 service must be stopped and restarted for it to take effect.
This is done by httpd.exe -n wampapache64 -k restart, but in your case, it won't work because the wampapache64 service is deficient.

You'll need to stop httpd.exe and restart it.
