Hello Otomatic,
I installed version 5.2.1: Downloaded the latest zip file and extracted it and placed it in the apps folder. Then edited phpmyadmin in the alias folder to:

Alias /phpmyadmin "c:/wamp64/apps/phpmyadmin5.2.1/"

<Directory "c:/wamp64/apps/phpmyadmin5.2.1/">
  Options +Indexes +FollowSymLinks +MultiViews
  AllowOverride all
  Require local

I also edited the phpmyadmin521 to:
Alias /phpmyadmin5.2.1 "c:/wamp64/apps/phpmyadmin5.2.1/"

<Directory "c:/wamp64/apps/phpmyadmin5.2.1/">
  Options +Indexes +FollowSymLinks +MultiViews
  AllowOverride all
  Require local

The wampserver icon is green, but phpMyAdmin is still showing the error " phpMyAdmin not compatible with PHP 8.1.0

Have I done something wrong?

Regards

Hi,

You MUST always use the installers for addons and applications designed for Wampserevr.
The PhpMyAdmin 5.2.1 installer asks whether you want to install it in addition to or instead of previous versions.

It's all in the Wampserver install files & addons link in my signature.

What's the point in me making installers that work perfectly 99.99% of the time if users just don't get it right!

At this point another error has popped up:
A syntax error being shown by Aestan Tray Menu:
The configuration file contains a syntax error on line 590:[EParseError] Unrecognized parameter name 'Type'
It does not show the Wamp icon anymore.

Delete all the changes you've made and return to the initial state BEFORE you installed PhpMyAdmin 5.2.1.

Relaunch Wampserver, possibly two or three times. If the error persists, please post the contents of the wampmanager.ini file 5 lines before and 5 lines after the line number in error, indicating the line number from which you started.

And you should update your signature!

Hello Otomatic,

Instead of repairing a version gone awry, I may as well install the latest version. I'll get all the files and addons directly from your site and get on with it and aslo update the signature etc.

I'll get back to you as soon as I'm done.

Warm regards,

Caydee
