configuration file contains a syntax error on line

I updated my WAMP install to 3.2.5, updated a couple VC packages and VC checker says all updates installed. I also updated the Aestan Tray Menu to 3.2.4.2.

Now when I go to start WAMP, I'm getting an Aestan Tray Menu dialog popup, which says:

>The configuration file contains a syntax error on line 650:
>[EParseError] Unrecognized parameter name "Type"

I click OK and it goes away. Then about 5 Command Prompt windows open and close, then the Aestan Tray Menu dialog pops up again. I click OK and it goes away and nothing happens. WAMP doesn't start.

I'm running Windows 10 64-bit.

Help, please!

Hi,

You don't have default DBMS. See wamp(64)/mariadb_mysql.txt file

You have modified a my.ini file to uncomment the line ;skip-grant-tables

It seems that the wampmanager.ini file is "corrupted"!
To repair it, you need to use the Wampmanager.ini repair tool
Repair tool for wampmanager.ini file if it is corrupted or missing. You can download at any time, but install this tool only if you need it, because it takes into account the current configuration of Wampserver. A wampmamanger.ini corrupted file is reflected mostly by errors like "[EparseError]" or "Could not execute run action" when launching Wampserver.

Install this tool then read carefully the information windows at the end of installation.

Hi,

There is a problem if there is both No Default DBMS and skip_grant_tables uncommented.

Please comment skip-grant-tables BEFORE running the wampini repair tool.

Hi,

Ok, so far so good! I commented out that line in my.ini and repaired Wampmanager.ini and now I can start WAMP!

I started WAMP and removed the tick from MariaDB so that only MySQL is ticked. Then stopped and restarted WAMP. Mouseover WAMP icon says, "local server - All services running", but I'm still getting the "No Default DBMS" warning.

I did the "Test port 3306" and got this:

***** Test which uses port 3306 *****

===== Tested by command netstat filtered on port 3306 =====

Port 3306 is not found associated with TCP protocol
Port 3306 is not found associated with TCP protocol

I don't see how to manually set MySQL to port 3306.

Hi,

Read Right-Click -> Help -> Mariadb-MySQL

To change port Right-Click -> Tools -> MySQL -> Use a port other than 3308

Ha! Well, that was easy enough... thanks!

So, I've got phpmyadmin working now, but it's not showing any of my databases. How do I fix that?

Also, one more thing... is there a way to remove old projects under "Your Projects" on the Wampserver Homepage?

Thanks so much for your help on this. I'm almost back to production mode.

Ok, nevermind on the databases. It appears when installing, my databases were moved under mysql version 8.0.18, but I had changed to version 5.7.36. I changed it back to ver8 and they're back.

Just have that final question on removing projects from "Your Projects" section of wampmanager homepage.

Also, is there a way to send you or the team a small donation?

I really appreciate the help and all that you do.

Thanks,
Mark
