How to enable https (localhost) url in WAMP server (v3.0.6)?

Ok, I visited it already and so it doesn't look like a link in the post. Sorry.

I followed the directions, but when I have WAMP listen to port 443, Apache won't start.

The port is not in use.

The Apache error log says:

[mpm_winnt:crit] [pid 9612:tid 500] (OS 109)The pipe has been ended. : AH00404: Child: Unable to read socket data from parent

[mpm_winnt:crit] [pid 10224:tid 592] AH00427: Parent: child process 9612 exited with status 3 -- Aborting.

Checking the syntax shows no errors.

I have tried

Listen 443

and

Listen 0.0.0.0:443
Listen [::0]:443


Any idea what the problem is? The firewall rule is to allow Apache all ports, and even when I disable firewall and antivirus, same issue.

P.S. Do instructions exist for setting WAMP to use SSL with virtual hosts.

Hi,

You obviously did not read ALL the linked post. A secure https(ssl) site IS A Virtual Host duplicate of a non secure (port 80)

Try setting up the demo site as I did in the post, then take the knowledge gained by doing that to do it for your real site.
