WampServer

I have been using some old version of wampp(cant really remember the version) so i though of upgrading and since after the upgrade i have been having issues with all my projects with url rewrites (.htaccess),i have googled and tried all means to fix this but found no solution at all,
This is what happens when i click on [localhost] it will just change the browser url bar and wont go to the page,showing no errors or anything even the 404 page in the htaccess is not working.

and one thing i discovered again, is that anytime i want to access a url e.g with file.php extension ,i can still access the page removing the .php extension is this an error or a new improvement?

- 2 - Use VirtualHost -> The need for Virtual Host
- 3 - Verify that Apache mod_rewrite module is activated.
Wampmanager Tray Icon -> Apache -> Apache modules -> rewrite_module

Rewrite module is on ,wamp shows the green icon i have created the virtual host but still the link url is still not working
