I have a problem with WAMP.

The icon is green.
Unfortunately I cant run phpmyadmin. the error report is:
phpMyAdmin – Error
The mbstring extension is missing. Please check your PHP configuration.

also, when calling scripts by my virtual host setup I suddenly have the report:
Fatal error: Class 'mysqli' not found in ……

I hope people here can help me out please.
Another thing I would like to know is why this happens; I had WAMP running since July this year and know suddenly (obviously) after programming i have these error reports. What causes this error so sudden, is that due to wrong programming? Can programming switch off / alter the way extensions work or are located?

That I would like to know, but in the first place of course I want to solve the problem of not being able to run phpmyadmin and my virtual host.

Have you tried the solution that was suggested in your previous question

Right-Click Wampmanager tray icon -> Refresh

Question: I suppose you have not put wampserver back onto a FAT formatted disk have you?

thanks a lot for helping me out Riggs, you are great.

Still its strange to me this happens; can it be due to what I wondered in the opening post?

Well I can only think that you were making some changes to WAMPServer and something went wrong.
