SQL server 2008 and Wamp Server

Hi All,

I have installed Wamp Server and SQL server 2008 in my system. I have WIndows 7 installed in my system.
Now after I got SQL server 2008 installed, Wamp server is not working. There must be some server conflict between the two servers, but I want to use wamp server as it is required. I need to disable the SQL server when I use Wamp Server.
Can anyone tell me how to do that?

Thanks
Umesh

Mostly all having this type of problem..

Solution

1>It is only problem of some bunch of microsoft's programs...That application's process is on ...that wont allow you to connect with PHP easily...cause it is using same port 80 as PHP does...

2>You have installed sql server 2008 for specific purpose...You only need to stop server running by going in server administration and by IIS you have to stop that default server which is running...then restart WAMP again..then wont have any problems...if there are any you have uninstall some products like Web matrix...

3>And every time you restart you SQL server it will start its basic processes so you have to stop that every time..

I have just figured out the solution:
The Reason is that an SQL Reporting services is utilizing the PORT 80 that Apache Uses. Disabling the SQL Reporting Services to start automatically will definitely solve the Problem, Usually even without stopping the SQL Server it self.

You can Test Port 80 by clicking on the Wamp Server, Apache, Service, then Test Port 80. If it is being used, it will tell you otherwise it will tell you that it is not being used at that instance.

Stopping SQL Reporting Service, Start, then type Administrative Tools, click on the name , select computer Management, then Services and applications> SQL Server Configuration> Services & Look for SQL Reporting Servicves, Set it to Manual start, and stop.

Restart Your WAMP Server, Test Ur Port, This time U will not find it BUSY. Restart all Services.

Enjoy!!! Hope this Helps

The SQL Services I have are:

SQL Active Directory Helper Service
SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS)
SQL Server Browser
SQL Server VSS Writer
SQL ServerDiscovery

I do not have SQL Reporting Servicves

I'll be looking for any port 80 problem I might find while you answer

" I have installed I have installed Wamp Server, Webmatrix and SQL server 2008 in my system. I have WIndows 7 installed in my system. Now after I got SQL server 2008 installed, Wamp server is not working."

Solution :

Port 80 is used with MsDepScv.exe processus, stop this service.
Restart WampServer Services and the icon will appear green...

Have you run wampmanager -> Apache -> Service -> Test port 80

to see if something else has grabbeb port 80 ?

It coudld be SKYPE, in which case you need to configure SKYPE as follows

How to Configure SKYPE so it does not require port 80 or 443

Run SKYPE
then using the menus do this:

Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Connection

Un-Check the checkbox next to 'Use port 80 and 443 as alternatives for incomming connections'

Now restart SKYPE for these changes to take effect.

If you are running Windows 8 SKYPE comes as an app and this cannot ( as yet ) be configured in this way.
However if you uninstall the SKYPE app and install SKYPE in the old way, you can reconfigure it, and it works just as well.

You Shouldn't need to stop sql server services You Should Go In Apache server httpd.conf file and Change
Two Line Only:

Replace

#Listen 12.34.56.78:80 to 12.34.56.78:8081
Listen 80 to 8081

Server Port:8081

Then Restart The Wamp Services...
