WampServer

Site does not show or anything. What do I need to do? Thanks

Site all shows as green but when I run php page to show up in IE 10 or 11 it does not display at all or nothing shows up for Wordpress.

Are you doubleclicking on a filename in explorer to run these sites? If so that does not work, youhave to enter the url into the browser.

Yes I have the url up on my local machine and also edited the wp-config.php file in phpmyadmin using examples found in this forum and online. I am not sure if anything else I am missing that needs to be edited in the wp-admin folder or others to get the permissions aligned?

Does the url say

'http://.....` or `file:///....'

no. It says this Error establishing a database connection when I enter the site localhost/mstats. On a Virtual Machine when I used bitnami wordpress it comes up fine all showing without using WAMP. I am trying to avoid the Bitnami route due to technical reasons and others. Strangely typing localhost itself works but anything inside the www folder does not. I installed node.js, bower, jdk and cordova etc and edited the environmental values in system a few weeks ago to test for other things but have removed it.

I tried changing the index.php file of the particular www folder to but that also did not work. My problem is in some ways similar to below

$suppress_localhost = false;

Did you create a database for the wordpress site and do the install
or
are you trying to run an already installed WordPress through WAMPServer

When I tried to remove the old mysql DB it says this. That was for an old expression engine db I am trying to remove which maybe is causing the problem
