WampServer

Dear host,

I’m running a WooCommerce webshop on one of your servers and WooCommerce has recommended PHP version of 5.6. WordPress, the CMS that WooCommerce uses, has also listed this version as the recommended PHP version on their requirements page: [wordpress.org]

Can you please let me know if my hosting supports PHP 5.6 or higher and how I can upgrade?

What version of WAMPServer are you using.

According to my system report its show the following server info - Apache/2.4.9 (Win32) PHP/5.5.12.

It is Wampserver 2.5.
There is no addon for Wampserver 2.5 but you can upgrade to Wampserver 3.0.3.

I have gone through the link you have sent me to upgrade the Wamp...

So, do I need to follow the following method mention in the link???


Upgrading Wampserver 2.5 to Wampserver 3.0.3 Directly ------------

Wampserver 2.5 users can apply the update to Wampserver 3.0.3 directly. There will be no change to the Apache, PHP, MySQL settings and versions used; your local sites and databases will not be affected. You will have Wampserver 3.0.3 and all the addons available. In addition this will install Apache 2.4.18, PHP 5.6.18 and 7.0.3, MySQL 5.6.29 and PhpMyAdmin 4.5.4.1. But will not activate them!

-- Wampserver 2.5 -> 3.0.3 - 32 bit x86

-- Wampserver 2.5 -> 3.0.3 - 64 bit x64

Process :
- Exit Wampserver 2.5
- Install or repair the aforementioned VC packages (VC9, VC10, VC11, VC13 and VC14).
- Despite all the testing, errors may exist, therefore make a backup or the entire `\wamp\ folder somewhere safe
- Run the install of, Wampserver 2.5 -> 3.0.3 making sure you launch it as an administrator
- Launch Wampserver

Do you think we will bother to write procedures that you do not need to follow!

Follow this procedure exactly.

For :
Install or repair the aforementioned VC packages (VC9, VC10, VC11, VC13 and VC14).
