testmysql fails

I have uninstalled WampServer 3.0.0 64bit using the documented method and installed WampServer 3.0.0 32 bit after reading the forum entry which says that 64bit PHP is "experimental".
The installation appears to be working, Icon is GREEN but trying to access localhost/testmysql.php reults in a n error message which says
Fatal error: Class 'mysqli' not found in C:\wamp\www\testmysql.php on line 7
Now the PHP version is 5.6.15 and MySQL is 5.7.9.

So what have I done wrong?

Win 10 Prof 64 bit
in a Windows 10 Prof virtual machine 64 bit

WAMP server v 3.0.6 64 bit
Apache v 2.4.23
PHP v 5.6.27
MySQL v 5.7.16
WAMP manager is GREEN
127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost

Hi,

Wampmanager tray icon -> php -> php extensions -> check php_mysqli

Thanks for the info. I note that you are running 3.0.4. Where do you get the update to 3.0.4 from 3.0.0?

I would have thought that a fresh install from WampServer.com would not have needed to have the php_mysqli checking and work first time.

Did I miss something in the long instructions for installing?

I am beginning to get the impression that this product is not for beginners considering all the many amendments that have to be made to various provided configuration files.

Hi,

All addons and updates are on [Wampserver.aviatechno.net]

Only needed php extensions and Apache modules for Wampserver works are checked at installation.

I apologise for my wrong English.

Only 64 bit PHP versions before PHP 7.0.0 were experimental.

Use of Apache, PHP, MySQL Server is not a simple and easy way as allbody think. You have to understand how it works, what is a DNS, how use virtualhost as all hosters, etc.

Don't modify files if you don't know why.
