displayed file/directory name width change

looking around for a method to change the width of directories display when you go into a project from the WAMP SERVER Homepage. When I go into a project, there are often longer file names/directory names than will be displayed. Displaying only the first N characters, makes it hard to select when directory I want to go into and normally I have to look at the "Last Modified" column to know which is the appropriate one to select.
Is there any settings that control this?
