How To Redirect the main page

Does anybody knows how to redirect the main page that shows the localhost.
E.g
[localhost] ( wich shows the index of wamp5.php) redirect to www.mydomain.com

bak up incals this doesnt work but i belive you need simply over wright the index file in the www folder
