WampServer

I uninstalled the Wamp version i had on my laptop and installed the version 3.0 but it never worked.The "W" icon is on task bar area but its RED in color instead of green and it gives the tooltip " None of 2 services running".

During installation,it gave this msgbox "The Program Cant start because VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing from your computer.I downloaded the dll file and put it in C of my laptop but still wont work.

Skype is not using port 80,i already told skype not do use it.

You DIDN'T READ the prerequisites that are displayed just before installing WampServer 3.

- Uninstall wampserver 3
Read WAMPserver 3 - All you need to know then apply the prerequisites then install Wampserver 3.0.4.

There's times when I really wonder what's the point of me writing installation procedures. Do you think I just get bored and cannot think of anything else to do?

A .dll file should NEVER be copied. It must be installed by an installer in order to be registered by the system.
Before lnstallation of VC packages, you must delete the file that you copied.

I have a similar issue in that I see the red W in the sys tray but I do have VS2015 on my machine so I had this prereq. All services 3 services started but I did this via windows services .. I couldn't find a way via he sys tray icon.

Yet again

Someone else that refuses to read the instruction in front of them.

Specifically Where its says The following packages It means ALL OF THE FOLLOWING PACKAGES


--- Visual C++ Packages ---
The following packages (VC9, VC10, VC11) are required for Wampserver 2.4, 2.5 and 3 even if you use only Apache and PHP versions VC11.
VC14 is required for Apache version 2.4.17 (or greater) and for PHP 7.


So check you have ALL of them installed!

If you are using WAMPServer 64bit on Windows 64bit you need ALL these runtimes for BOTH 32bit and 64bit


As you ignored these instructions before installing WAMPServer, you may need to uninstall WAMPServer and the AFTER loading all the runtimes install WAMPServer again

Thanks , I have got it now - all packages need to be installed and not just VC14 , which gets installed as part of VS2015. Better get uninstalling and downloading ;-)
