It's a bad idea to add localhost in the url of launching projects. It is best to define VirtualHost in
wamp/bin/apache/apache2.4.18/conf/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf
file and not add localhost in the url.

Its a warning/Suggestion

I realize this is several months Old, but reading the answer to the same question I have, is not sufficent. More clarification is needed.

When the "warning/suggestion says "its a bad idea" sounds far more than just a suggestion. Hence I am going to ask for clarification by asking more precise questions, which the original poster should have asked.

"If I do install anything into "local" host folder, like a WordPress install, is this 'bad idea' going to lead to problems?"

Second, why is it a bad idea? I believe a better explanation is needed instead of expecting us to follow it blindly.
