Non-Local Access

Hi

I am relatively new to this, I have set up a web server (Apache) sharing a local drive folder, which allows me access to it from other systems on the internal network with password protection. However when I try to access the server from outside the network (a Belkin Wireless Router), either by manually entering the IP address, or using the domain that has been registered with dyndns.com, it will only direct me to the web-based control panel for the Belkin router.

In addition, when obtaining the IP address through the command prompt in windows (XP), it returns a different one to that revealed by my browser / whatismyip.com

Any information would be greatly recieved.

Kind regards
Matt

Did you perform port forward on your router yet? If not yet, you have to do it from the main computer, the one that directly connect to your router. Remember, HTTP is 80 and FTP is 21. Besides, don't forget to enable wireless access cause some router have it off by default.
Have fun,
