wamp stopped working

HI,
First thanks for the excellent software, that helped me learn web site design and development.
I have been using Wamp for last 12 months. I had no problems absolutely. Unfortunately it stopped working since yesterday.
The icon displays pink and shows 'server online'. However I am unable to open a site on localhost, I get the message 'Unable to connect to localhost'.
I tested port 80 and I get the message 'your port 80 is not actually used'. I tried re-installing the latest 2.2 version of Wamp. But still the icon stays pink.
Can you pls help me ?
I am using windows 7

Thanks so much for the immediate response. The problem solved by itself....the icon turned green without my doing anything. I wish this happened in the morning. wasted 24 hours. and deleted the existing version and with that all my data on mysql had gone...
I guess I learn from errors.
But I appreciate your help. You are so wonderful doing such lovely service
