Includes Folder?

OK, I just installed WAMP and I was looking at the phpinfo and it says that the includes folder is C:\php5\pear\ directory. Do we need to create that directory or is that supposed to be there after installation? I was trying to follow along with a tutorial and there was no mention of creating this directory.

Is pear something special or is it just a directory name? In other words, if I create the C:\php5\pear directory will I be able to use it put all my include scripts?

It's just weird to have a default folder that doesn't exist.

PEAR is something special and if you dont know what it is, your doing it wrong

all your scripts go into c:\wamp\www

you open the broswer at localhost which will be the www folder

if you put a folder in the www for example c:\wamp\www\folder2

then you will use localhost/folder2

I finally got it to do what I wanted. The whole point of using the default C:\php\pear directory is to separate your common include php files that are not directly in the root (www) of your site. All I did is create the directory C:\php\pear and put all my common php files in there and then I was able to reference them from any of the main html files on my site in www.

So as far as I can tell there is nothing special about that directory other than the fact that it is the default includes folder for php as listed from phpinfo. I just didn't expect to have to create it manually after installation of wamp.
