Deleted Wamp by accident, can't access website anymore

Hi there,

A few weeks ago I ran into trouble with my computer, so I did a system restore. Windows said it would delete some programs, but I thought I had everything backed up. I forgot about a Wordpress website I built on a Wampserver, which I haven't published online yet.

Those are my problems:
-Wamp server isn't showing in my program list, but I can run it when I access it through search.
-The Wamp icon stays red
- When I try to access phpMyAdmin or my site I get:
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

- I have my www folder backupped. I also saved some database info (name, password).

Can anyone help me?

Please keep in mind that I'm not a programmer or something, so if possible, keep it as simple as possible.

Cheers

If the wamp folder is still there try this

Put a new shortcut of \wamp\wampmanager,exe onto your desktop.

Run WampServer

Using the menus do

left click wampmanager -> Apache -> Service -> Install Service
left click wampmanager -> MySQL -> Service -> Install Service

Then restart all services
left click wampmanager -> Restart All Services

Does the wampmanager icon go Green now?

Hi there,

First of all thanks for your quick reply.

My Wamp server icon turned green, so that's a great start.

But when I try to view my site through clicking the icon > My Projects I get the following error:
"This webpage is not available ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED"

Any suggestions? Or other ways to view my site?

My Wamp path is:

file:///C:/wamp/www/projectname

Does it work when you do 'localhost/project`?

Do the site .html/.php files still exist?

Have you checked your HOSTS file 'c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts' ?

What if anything did you change to make it work?

I followed all your steps in your first message and after that I tried to view the site through localhost/project.

The first couple of times it didn't work, but then suddenly it did
