Guys this could be couple of reasons
Check different browsers first to see if the problem happens everywhere.
Try 127.0.0.1 in different browsers
- IE
- FireFox
- Chrome
- Opera
etc..
Try localhost in the same browsers
- IE
- FireFox
- Chrome
- Opera
etc..
Look at what your results are... If 127.0.0.1 works, but localhost doesnt, its a simple host file setting
Host file can be edited and you don't have to restart your pc, just restart your browser
If none of the addresses works (127.0.0.1 or localhost) in any of your browsers, then something bigger is wrong.
Try to download the correct version (32bit or 64bit) Read elsewhere which version you need! But i doubt you would want a local server if you don't know which version you need.
Try the apache addons, (later versions of the apache version you got with your WAMP version). SOMETIMES the settings just doesnt click... dont blame anyone, just try the version (yes, even older versions) that works for your pc setup. (you can have many different versions of apache installed in wamp, then select them via your wamp icon in your tray)
Read this other thread carefully as well
