Hi,

I am using XP and Firefox and no servers or anything which may conflict.

I have just installed WS but cannot get it to work.

It shows a yellow patch on the tray and says it is Online.

I have a folder www/catalog/ with an index.php file in it but I get this..

When entering [localhost] in the browser or even click 'localhost' in the menu, I get this message..

I have no idea why it means .asp??

I checked the port 80 and get the message it is being used by MS IIs/5.1

Why is this?

Any help please?

Oz.

Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0201'

IIS and Apache/Wamp are both web server and might conflict in some way, so you have to disable IIS in order for Wamp to work

Disable IIS in Vista/7:

Control Panel, Uninstall Programs, Turn Widows Features On or Off, uncheck Internet Information Services

Disable IIS in XP:

Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components, uncheck Internet Information Services (IIS)

Restart computer, then restart Wamp

Also, open file hosts in folder C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc and delete anything in there and have only this line and nothing else

127.0.0.1 localhost

Just remembered this..

If I want to have several web sites do I just create a folder for each of them, or do I need a new instance of wampserver?

Thanks

you need to setup access, dns, and vh; access for permission to connect to your wamp pc, dns to tie domain(s) to your wamp pc, and vh to host multiple domains/websites and even you have only 1 domain/ip, you should use vh to set it up; if dont have real domain, just skip dns guide

to setup access, follow this

to setup vh, follow this

Many thanks..

If I only want to use WS as a test server with no access to the outside, I would just set them up in their own dirs..correct?
