WampServer

Can I run wamp 5 AND Wamp 2.0 on the same computer? I want to do this because Wamp 2.0 and zen cart won't play nice. I have updated zc to run with php 5.3 via a patch they offer, but it refuses to install on wamp 2.0.

I have tried to put each version on seperate partitions on my hard drive, but whatever I install last overwrites parts of the first version. I can exit 2.0 and open the wamp5 wampmanager exe but i get the phpmyadmin, mysql and php version from wamp 2.0. If I delete 2.0 I have to reinstall wamp5 to get it to work.

I need to keep my testing site running on wamp 5 working until I can iron out the problem running zc on wamp 2.0. It has something to do with my multiple add ons causing a problem.

I have tried installing just wamp 2.0 and adding older php and mysql versions, but when changing versions of mysql the whole thing would lock up.

Is there something I can rename somewhere to allow wamp5 on one partition and wamp 2.0 on another?

they both run on port 80.. so unless you chnage the port of one you cant get them to work together





id advise you to use wamp2.0


above on the menu there is ADDONS


downlaod php, mysql, apache that zen cart will run on and add them . no you can run it.

by using the wamp menu u can easily change php menu with just a click.


i dont think these addons above will work on wamp5 , infact they wont..



but u can proabably make the setup u had on wamp5 run on wampserver2 by downlaoding the appropriate addons

I thought of that but as I stated:

I am only trying to run one instance at a time, any idea why they are conflicting. I tried at one time to change to port 8080 (I found that suggestion somewhere) but it did not help. I don't really know much about any of this.

they both use aestean tray menu ,

maybe both the IDS are set to WampManager


open wampmanager.tpl and look for

ID={Wampmanager}


they both cant use the same id or the firt will close wen the second is open
