if I add a password will it affect my DB
that set up withou password

I'm sure you can either IP bock certain ppl, also if you want a password find out how to put a .htaccess into your server, that should work, hypothetically speaking.

if you mean to setup password for mysql, then follow this

if you mean to password protect certain folder, ie www, then check this
