Wamp 2.0, Any Conflicts with XP SP3?

I have Wamp 2.0 working well on this machine w/ OS XP SP2. After years of this old machine(bad sectors, slow cpu, etc), I'm moving on to a new one this week. On the new one I will still have XP SP2, but also have the option to upgrade to SP3 from a CD.

I was wondering if there are known conflicts with Wamp 2.0 and XP using SP3?

I can stay with SP2, but I will be plagued with MS's nuisance attempts to upgrade me to SP3. I can't leave Automatic Updates on because I'm on dial up, and large downloads hog all my usual internet activities. Has you Mac people already know, MS doesn't care a bit about asking (Grrr!!).

Thanks for the help.

Andy

no there is no issues. just the firewall on sp3 is more secure. so u may have to add an exception for wamp into which u proably didnt have to do on sp2, esp if you dont install and reinstall wamp as firewall will block it on updating sp3

and if I'm not wrong, ps3 auto enable iis, so make sure to disable it as well

IIS and Apache/Wamp are both web server and might conflict in some way, so you have to disable IIS in order for Wamp to work

Disable IIS in Vista:

Control Panel, Uninstall Programs, Turn Widows Features On or Off, uncheck Internet Information Services

Disable IIS in XP:

Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components, uncheck Internet Information Services (IIS)

Restart computer, then restart Wamp

Also, open file hosts in folder C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc and make sure you have only this line and nothing else

127.0.0.1 localhost
