Internet Explorer causes WampServer to freeze

I've used WampServer for quite some time and Internet Explorer has always periodically caused WampServer to freeze up.

What happens is that sometimes when loading a page in IE, it never stops loading (i.e. the loading symbol just keeps showing and the page never loads) and then pages won't load in any other browsers, either. To unfreeze WampServer, I then have to restart all services.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? In the past I just haven't done much testing in IE, but I really need to for a new project and having to constantly restart WampServer wastes a lot of time..

Thanks for your help!

Check the apache error and access logs. Clear them, Then start again wait for it freeze up and see what happened

Hi Cell,

Try this:

Add these two lines anywhere in your httpd.conf ( not inside another section ), then restart your Apache server:

# Fix IE crashing Apache
AcceptFilter http none
AcceptFilter https none

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Windows 10 Pro 64bit) (Wampserver 3.3.4 64bit) Aestan Tray Menu 3.2.5.4
<Apache versions MULTIPE> <PHP versions MULTIPLE> <MySQL Versions MULTIPLE>
<MariaDB versions MULTIPLE> <phpMyAdmin versions MULTIPLE> <MySQL Workbench 8.0.23>

Read The Manuals Apache -- MySQL -- PHP -- phpMyAdmin
Get your Apache/MySQL/mariaDB/PHP ADDONs here from the WAMPServer alternate Repo
