I was wondering where I would place all the PHP files from a SMF migration on WAMPServer ?

Thanks, I appreciate it. I am not at the machine right now, but plan on tackling it again when I get home from work. I tried doing it manually last night, but could only get Apache up and running, not PHP...... never even got to Mysql ( it was installed, but I could not get the ./install.php script to run.

Yes, I was lucky to find this site today ( wish I did last night )

My plan was to
1) Uninstall Apache
2)Uninstall PHP
3) Uninstall MySql
4) Install WampServer

Then.....? Thought I would copy all the PHP files over and run the install.php script for SMF?

u dont need to copy them
i think wen u install smf it asks where to place. wen u download wamp there is a www like apache

make a folder in it for smf

then install it to there

I don't remember seeing a Windows type msi or exe installer.

It just looked like php files to me, the you run the ./install.php from a browser....? No ?

you can get a msi installer for it..

but if u dont have it then yes - save the files into a folder in www and run the install - i presume its smf 1.3?

anyway just be sure u uninstall all of apache mysql and php

it really messes up wamp if its not totally gone
