I'm running windows 7 and have had WAMP installed before and now when I try to run it, it keeps pulling the IIS welcome page even after stopping IIS. So I finally uninstalled WAMP and did a new install but it still keps giving me the IIS 7 Welcome page. What am I missing?

My apologies. I thought I made that clear in my post. I did and have stopped "IIS" and in fact also "World Wide Web Publishing Services" And then restarted the machine and double checked that IIS was not running. So to the short version is IIS Is not running. but I am still getting the IIS 7 Welcome page from the "Localhost" link in the WAMP system tray console. Also if I click on 'phpMyAdmin link I get a "#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)" error. This is a brand new fresh install mind you, so whatever settings are set they are there by default.
I'll have to find and I guess install teamviewer. I'll get back to you
Hmm... well I went and double checked the browser cache just to be sure and this time it produced a results even if it wasn't a good result. It did not take me to an IIS7 Welcome page so at least its not trying to go to the inetpub folder instead it just spins its wheels but doesn't connect' just a blank window with the little spinner in the tab "Waiting for..." So I'm guessing it must have something to do with that MySQL error. Hmm.. now even the phpMyAdmin just spins trying to load the page "Waiting..."
I do appreciate your help though So apparently it didn't clear the cache the last time. I did install teamviewer though.
