WampServer

My wampserver 2.0 just stopped working out of the blue (I get a timeout error). It shows all white and continues to show white after I resart services. The only change to my system is a driver I added for a external drive. Skype isn't running.

How do I begin to debug?

What colour is the wampmanager icon in the system tray?

White.

Look at the 'apache error log' and the 'php error log' and the mysql error log'.

Also check the Windows Event Viewer for messages from Apache and/or MySQL

Since last post, I've successfully used last week's restore point. That resolved my problem. Then I restarted and the problem's back!

No errors since 8/10 (I don't know whether this is trustworthy).

I've never used the event viewer before. What should I look for.

Turned-out it was an evil mcafee update. It wiped-out my port settings. That's five hours of my life I'll never get back.
