Hey,

I've been using wampserver to develop a wordpress site offline, and it's been working great all week. Earlier today out of nowhere though, pages were not loading on the internet even though my internet connection was fine. I reset the TCP/IP, and when I rebooted, the internet was working great but now I can't access localhost. As the title mentions, I get the "Chrome could not connect to localhost" error. I've tried and failed on firefox as well.

Please help.

Problem solved! I found this in another forum and it worked for me:

Go to your windows folder from C:, navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc look for Host (Note: because this is windows 7, u won't be aalows to modify the host file=====> Open a notepad as administrator, from file ---Open--- navigate here-->C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc, open host) scroll down the page, and make sure the local host is having this IP ---> 127.0.0.1 in front of it

Have you tried pressing CTRL+F5 after a failure, to force a refresh from the site and not the cache?

Also some browsers prefer you to use
http://localhost
