How to "test" if Microsoft C++ is present & active?

Hi everybody,

I have installed the WAMP for a 64-bit Windows (7) o/s, along with what was supposed to be a Microsoft C++ addition.

When executing the C++ files, my o/s reported that it was repairing the C++ install (must have been there with a student version of Visual Basic 2010 I have)

In any event, when I run Wampserver and clue into the "hidden Icons" and view wampserver, the "Local Host" reports that I am using Microsoft ISS.

Since Wamp will not run without the Microsoft C++ I would like to test to see if the C++ component IS there, or not.

How can I test for this?

Many thanks,
-Paul-

Many Thanks,
Paul

(If I wasn't so stupid, I wouldn't have to be so persistent)

IIS and Apache both use port 80 to communincate on.

You need to stop IIS while you are using wamp apache.

If you dont want to use it again try uninstalling it, if you want both then just disable it while you are doing development with wamp/apache.

These are the component that usually cause problems for apache, you may not have all of them but if you do they all need turning off/disabling

1. IIS itself
2. Web Deploy 2.0
3. MS Sql Server Reporting service.
