Hi,

I am trying to setup a local WAMP on windows 8 to work with Joomla 1.5 & 2.5 & 3.0.

I already setup the WAMP Server 64 Bits & Apache 2.4 , PHP 5.4.3 and MySQL 5.5.24 and works fine for Joomla 2.5 & 3.0 but when I try to install an old PHP, APache and MYSQL all fail.

The requirements for Joomla 1.5 are : PHP : 5.2 + , MySQL 5.0 + and Apache 2.x +.

I already try a few combinations of PHP, Apache and MySQL but never works:

Apache : 2.0.50 , 2.0.55, 2.0.58
PHP : 5.2.55 , 5.2.58
MySQL : 5.1.40 , 5.1.30

Any one have a recommendations in order to have two different environment that can work?

I just did a small project using Joomla 1.5 and it worked using

Apache 2.2.22
PHP 5.3.17
MySQL 5.5.24


Your problem is probably that the recent versions of Apache/PHP and MySQL were compiled with VC9 and previous versions were compiled with VC6. And of course they are not compatible.

If you really want to go back as far as you tried you have to switch all 3 to an old version together to avoid these incompatibilities.

I have installed the Wamp with ( Apache 2.4.2 – Mysql 5.5.24 – PHP 5.4.3 XDebug 2.1.2 XDC 1.5 PhpMyadmin 3.4.10.1 SQLBuddy 1.3.3 webGrind 1.0)

also I try the follow Addons of PHP but the server never work:

5.2.5
5.2.9
5.3.0
5.3.1


Any change to have two separated Wamp installations, each with a different servers versions ?
