After installation, i get application error from httpd.exe

The installation of wamp server2 went fine. but, before it prompts for php mail parameters, it shows an error message from httpd.exe saying "Application was unable to start correctly(0Xc000007b). click ok to close the application". After that it goes on to php mail configuration section. Now, the wampserver is installed.
I am not able to go to local host . when i click on local host , "internet explorer cannot display page" is appearing.
when i click on the apache->service-> install service, the above mentioned application error pops up.
can you help me out?
