Hello!
I uninstalled WAMP through ControlPanel, and restarted the computer.
The Apache icon still offers the service status for wampapache, beside Apache2.2 which I hav e installed separately. Why?
In fact the wamp directory (C:\wamp) is still present, with 28 Mo of stuff! Why?

how did you uninstall it?

you need to close wamp, so that the services are stopped. and then uninstall and this will remove the services.

as for the folder being left - Its not all the folders,

its the www folder and the mysql folder.

These are the two locations were a users sites and db are stored.

Too many people were uninstalling and expecting to get their sites back after a reinstall so the decision was taken not to remove user data on uninstall.

I uninstalled with ControlPanel/Programs&Features
The final message was that WampServer had been successfully uninstalled.

So... why does the the Apache service monitor show 2 lines under Service Status:
Apache2.2 --which I expect, since I installed Apache independently from WampServer;
wampapache, with a red dot which, I guess, means it's not active. But why is it there at all?

Wamp installs the Apache service with the name wampapache.

You cannot run 2 Apache's as they both want to use port 80.

I have to say if you installed Apache independantly of wamp WHY DO YOU WANT WAMP. Wamp is just a cool tool that installs Apache/MySQL and PHP. If you have apache already why use wamp.

If you want to use wamp get rid of the other Apache installation and MySQL and PHP that you installed independantly..

Hello!
WAMP did not work for me, so, I independently installed Apache (with MySQL and PHP) after --and it works. My problem is now getting rid of WAMP.
