Hi Sledge, Well the first thing that I noticed was that you said that you have access to everything that came with the WAMPServer install i.e. the homepage/phpMyAdmin ... etc. So it was a straight forward case of installing the program, then using it! All problems you have after that are of your own making! Presumably due to lack of experience/knowledge !! Now the first thing th

I can run the installed joomla apps on wampserver but access is denied to phpmyadmin4.1.14 I was able to access it before but suddenly I am locked out. Perhaps there is a password I am missing but the option to use one is not showing. I just get the error Forbidden You don't have permission to access /phpmyadmin/ on this server. I have the wampserver installed in order to install and run Wordpress. The first couple of days everything was fine, but all of a sudden the Wamp icon turned orange and remained that way. Now, I have searched days and hours in order to find a solution and read multiple sites and topics, to no avail. I have no ISS or Skype etc. running, and the web service thingy is unchecked, as is discussed o

WAMPServer is designed as a development environment that runs on the PC where the developer is sitting. For this reason Apache and MySQL CONFIGS are released with security in mind and everything is configured to just respond to connections from the machine running WAMPServer. It protects the beginner from accidental attack. If you wish to install WAMPServer on an actual server and be allo

Thanks RiggsFolly, It is all happy horses here with green W and localhost and phpMyAdmin working. I think the thing that got it all going was to edit httpd.conf as per your instrcutions , in particular to change to Listen 0.0.0.0:80 Listen [::0]:80 Adding both got the Wampserver going but I got 403 Forbidden error . Then making the prescribed "require local" changes correct

Hi Guys, I really hate to ask for help, but for the past two days I've unable to get my new machine up with Wampserver, and I'm afraid it might be something easy for the experts. My new machine is running 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate SP1. My previous machine that works fine is also 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 and is still running Wampserver 2.0 with Apache 2.2.11, PHP 5.2.8, MySQL 5.1.30

Actually, I am using it for online use. I'm currently hosting a website and game server. And I'm hosting it from a living room. From my tests so far my solution worked fine, and since all phpmyadmin users can only be accessed from localhost, the database should be safe. In order to access the the database from anywhere I plan on using remote access software. This in case I have to reboot

As far as 32-bit versus 64-bit, I kind of went with 64 bit by default. As you saw my initial PHP installation was 32-bit. The only reason that I went to 64-bit PHP was to satisfy the constraint with Apache. So eventually I will probably get a 32-bit Apache and put in a 32-bit PHP. Thank you for the info in vhosts. I will keep it in mind. Right now I don't want to have too many moving parts so
