I'm unable to run either phpMyAdmin or sqlBuddy even after wiping out an earlier install (which was reinstalled before I had tried the 2 programs). phpMyAdmin gives "MySql #2002 - An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions". sqlBuddy says "There's been a problem...". I read the earlier forum posts and tried all but the IPV6 stuff - sin

Hi. I also have this issue in Win8, but with some differences. In my case, I had two databases running perfectly on a laptop and added three more, migrated from another PC. I also copied the necessary files to the folder "www" so I could see the contents of the databases in the browser. It happens that, after copying the databases, I can not view the content of the databases

Hi Everybody, I've just tried to use phpMyAdmin for the first time. The operation took me to a HTML page in my browser saying: This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage. It requires a log in. How do I fix that? regards, -Paul-

Clearing the history did it!! As far as the fix on "forbidden" I had to change the listen 80 command in the httpd.conf file to listen 0.0.0.0:80 to set to ipv4 protocol. On the Browser setup I am using Chrome; is IE or Firefox MORE compatible with WAMP? Thanks for your help Steve - sometimes it is so simple and yet so far, far away! Respectfully, Gordon Haas

New Wamp install; mysql root user has no password. When I attempt to open phpmyadmin I get the 1045 Mysql access error. I can access mysql directly from the DOS environment with no password. There is no other "my.ini" on the system. The config.inc.php file has the password as blank/null. Prior to phpmyadmin selection all services are running - the Wamp ICON is green. I got passed

Undo all those changes, the second is actually dangerous and majorly insecure. Try this address: http://127.0.0.1/phpmyadmin If that works then you have a IPV4 , IPV6 issue and you should do the following: check c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts It should have 127.0.0.1 localhost in it and not ::1 Then edit httpd.conf ... use the wampmanager -> Apache -> htt

I am trying to get localhost working so I can access mysql. I keep getting a "forbidden error": You don't have permission to access /phpmyadmin/ on this server. I have checked many threads and I am lost as to the solution. On IIS you add the IUSER_machinename to the permissions with read/write access and you are good. I am new to apache. I tried adding a user to the config f

Jo, Scotts suggestion will only do what wamp does when you 'Put Online' so dont bother as it may mess up wamps ability to maintain that section when you 'Put Online' / 'Put Offline'. I am guessing you were trying to use phpMyAdmin or one of the other apps that come with wamp, from your other PC. If that is the case then this is the solution. edit c:\wamp\alias\phpmyadmin.conf Add Al

Running WampServer on Windows 8! I am not an expert, but based on hours of searching the internet, this is what I did. I installed WampServer on a 64 bit Windows 8 Dell Laptop (wampserver2.2e-php5.4.3-httpd-2.4.2-mysql5.5.24-x64) with the local website folders being in C:\wamp\www. Here are the local sites I have: I have the www site because WampServer installation includes an index.php

Hi, I updated to Windows 8 just a few days ago and I am having problem running WAMP. The WAMP manager stayed orange and says "WAMPSERVER - server Offline" when I point to the tray icon. When I ran httpd.exe directly from wamp\bin\apache\apache2.4.2\bin, I got the following error: (OS 10013)An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions. : A

I have basically the same problem, but on Windows XP. I did not have the MSVCR100.dll Missing error, just the phpMyAdmin and webGrind Forbidden errors. (I don't actually know what webGrind is used for, just that I can't use it.) I 'uninstalled' the whole program, then re-installed it, and I still get the '403 Forbidden' error. I am running McAfee as my security (I saw on another thread that
