Hi, Of course I installed Wampserver and it's still working. I installed each update individually. I have no clue why this one doesn't allow me.

Hi, I tried to update all my Wampserver programs and I couldn't do it with Phpmyadmin. Everytime I try to execute it as an administrator, Windows pops up a window error message saying it has no access to this file. I checked the Visual C++ Redistribuable Packages and I have them all. What should I check to sort it out? By the way, I just realised that there are two programs I don't have

Hi, I am aware that this is not the best forum to aks this question but if anybody could help me out in this issue I would appreciate a lot. I installed wampserver and after that I installed Wordpress. Everything went fine until next time I wanted to log in on my new site. After typing on the URL localhost/mysite/wp-admin, the login page didn't show up, I checked my database, phpmyadmin a

Hi, Thanks for the information. So this is not a PHP problem then? Why they say that? I never heard of PHPMailer. Will I still need a SMTP anyway? What's the difference if I only use the SMTP alone or If I use the PHPMailer + any SMTP? Where I can get PHPMailer, is it a Wordpress plugin? So far I am only testing the form on my localhost, but my site is not alive. Can PHPMailer give you the

Hi, I created a form on my localhost website but the messages are not delivered. I searched online for any possible explanation and I found that is a PHP issue. The recommendation I found to sort out the problem is using any SMTP plugins out there in wordpress. It doesn't seems very safety to use them because, as far as I know, the plugin log into your email account in order to deliver your mess

Hi, Ok, thanks for the information. "Changing the Location of disk is obvious." Umm, sorry not for me! Changing the name or location in httpd-vhost.conf wont break the site? Sorry for insisting in the same question again but I don't think it was answered. I will check the worpress thing. I had no idea that I will have to do that too!

Hi, Sorry for replying so late, When you said defined, what exactly did you mean? "(left click) wampmanager icon ->Apache->httpd-vhosts.conf and the editor will open it for you" I followed that link and yes, I could open it and check I have both sites. I still don't know how to relocate or change a name of a virtual host. If I am not mistaken, if I want to change

Easy peasy! "Rename or relocate the DocumentRoot folder" "Edit the httpd-vhosts.conf file and change old folder names into the new folder names." You mean edit the whosts-conf from my virtual host? If so, I checked it, actually, in that point I need some piece of advice. First: After ckecking the link for how to edit wp-config.php (ttps://wordpress.org/support/arti

Ok, i got the message -don't mess up with thing you don't know, but is that really so complicated? I know that changing the name of a virtualhost site is the same than deleting it. You have to do it from the httpd-vhosts file. At least there is one video tutorial that explain how to do it. Unfortunately, it didn't say anything about changing the root path, which basically, is the same that

I discovered what happened. I changed the name of the folder as if it was a normal folder, forgetting it was a the root path of the database. How can I change the name of the folder or, if for any reason, I need to change the root path to a different location?

Hi, I created a new virtual host and I could access to it when I completed all the process. Today when I tried to access again I got this message: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /wp-login.php on this server. Apache/2.4.39 (Win64) PHP/7.3.7 Server at newsite.test Port 80 The database is still there, the name of the virtual host appears on the virtualhost menu. Why I c

Thanks, it's a starting point as a reference I checked it and, with all due respect, i felt overwhelmed. I checked the section 7: Back ups and I couldn't find a proper answer. I checked phpmyadmin>export tab> and I could see that both databases were by default selected. I was checking the rest of options and I try to look for them on the guide to see if I did back up correctly, but n

I changed the version but I can't access to any site, and I don't want mess with the importing tab again. I gave up. I will delete everything of the other site and start a new virtualhost from scratch. How can I delete the database folder on phpmyadmin?

Ok, thanks a lot, "This all sounds like you did not do a proper backup of your database and./or you do not know how to restore the backup properly" The way I backed up was through phpmyadmin and using the default settings under export tap. I restored using the import tab and again, using the default settings. I didn't uninstalled wampserver, I just updated it through the ad

Yes, I changed from 8.0.15 to 8.0.16. But then why the backup? Actually, both databases are there. At least, I can access to the site I have content. So basically, what you are saying is that every time I update mysqul, even if I backup, there is a risk of loosing the database. Is that right? Former advise on the forum about updating was to backup before changing the version, which I did,

Hi, Yes that's right. I checked phpmyadmin (left column) and I have each database for both sites, so that's means the backup worked. The site I use the url "localhost" I can access to it, but for the other one I can't. Before the update, I had access to both sites. Afterwards, I couldn't, and later, when I got the piece of advice from the forum, I could only access to the loc

Hi, Thanks a lot for your answer and I am sorry you felt it in that way. After reading your answer I understood that this is how you can create a virtual host which I already did. The problem is that after I updated Wampserver I can only access to the localhost site. The other one I can't, hence I asked if there is anything I can do as I am not an IT expert. I believed that when I backed up

Hi, I updated wampserver and I couldn't access to my site. I asked the forum what could I do and the answer was to import the database that I backed up earlier. That worked well but I set up another site under wamp and this one is Inaccessible. I really appreciate if anybody could tell me how to sort out this problem and how to avoid it in the future? Thanks for your time.

I think so, but not sure. If not what should I do? How can I check that? The version I had for my second virtual host is newer than the first one, which now, after importing the database is working

It worked well with one of my sites but the other it didn't. why? I thought when I backed up the database it updates all the databases. The other site was empty, I meant, I only downloaded Wordpress and that's it, but I can't access to it. I still get this message: Not Found The requested URL /wp-login.php was not found on this server. Apache/2.4.39 (Win64) PHP/7.3.7 Server at festivals.

Hi, I tried what I said in my last post and it worked. I don't understand yet why others were asking me what version of Wampserver I had, as the problem it was with the database. Last time, which was the first time I ever updated Wampserver and the rest of programs, I hadn't this problem. I updated MySQL without then importing the backup database. Probably way lucky or, who knows? Anywa

Hi, So, are you suggesting me to import my database, I have never done that so, I am not sure how I have to do it. Please, tell me if I am wrong: Left click to the wampserver Icon, then click to PHPmyAdmin and click to the import button. Is that right? Do I have to do anything else?

I don't know. I imagine it's the last one before the 3.1.9. 64bit. Why? Is there a download history on Wampserver to find out which version was the last, before updating it?

I went to and under wampserver updates, I clicked the only version available. The other options are under xdebug (no idea what is that). Once downloaded, I run it and it changed to the new version. After that, I just carried on with the rest of programs and before change the version I backed up the database using the export option.
