I had the same kind of problems and for me it was solved by including a line in the config.inc.php file that appears to be missing... see also So check whether the line: $cfg['Servers'][$i]['AllowNoPasswordRoot'] = true; exists in the file named "config.inc.php" located in C:\wamp\apps\phpmyadmin3.1.1.

For me this was the clue to solve the issue in my case: the complete line was missing and after including the line, it works fine. So check whether the line: $cfg['Servers'][$i]['AllowNoPasswordRoot'] = true; exists in the file named "config.inc.php" located in C:\wamp\apps\phpmyadmin3.1.1.

Oke, I found in the forum the following solution: go back to the former working version of phpmyadmin by changing the reference in the wamp\alias\phpmyadmin.conf file: eg. replace 3.1.1 by 2.11.6 (2 times): Alias /phpmyadmin "....../wamp/apps/phpmyadmin2.11.6/" # to give access to phpmyadmin from outside # replace the lines # # Order Deny,Allow # Deny from all # Allo
